Prior to joining Lydian Energy in 2024, Sam spent ten years at NextEra Energy Resources developing utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects. In varying stages of his time with NextEra, Sam led development teams in MISO, SPP, WECC, and CAISO through all aspects of project development and commercialization. Prior to joining NextEra, Sam spent ten years in the U.S. Navy, five years as a nuclear submarine officer and five years as an explosive ordnance disposal officer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.B.A from M.I.T.
